So yeah, we went surfing today. It was soo much fun! I managed to stand up the second time, and nearly every time after that.
We drove for about five hours yesterday, before arriving at Coffs Harbour in the early evening.
We are going to Dreamworld tomorrow, and then heading north to the Sunshine Coast in the arvo. We are all having a great time so far! Catch'ya :)

From Norway to South-Africa!
Well well, my bag is nearly packed. I'm heading off tomorrow!
I'll try to give a few updates during our trip, but I'm not sure how much time I'll have, or if internet is available. But so you know where we are up to; the program:
DAY 1
We head north passing by Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour. We arrive at Byron Bay early evening. Watch a tent set up and dismantle demonstration and time to get to know each other.
DAY 2
We will be transported to the best surfing location around Byron Bay where we will have surf lessons. After the lesson back to camp for lunch, and there is time to explore the town of Byron Bay before heading back to camp in the early evening for dinner.
DAY 3
We head into the fun capital of Australia today - the Gold Coast. We visit Dreamworld for a fun filled day of thrills and spills. We then head north to Coolum Beach and set up the camp.
DAY 4
We head north this morning, passing through Nambour and Gympie. The sight of the Tropic of Capricorn marker signals that we are passing through Rockhampton, Austtralia's beef capital.
DAY 5
Fields of sugarcane flank the road from Mackay. Now the land becomes more suited to grazing. Finally we sight the crystal blue waters of the Whitsundays. We are camping at Airlie Beach.
DAY 6
Join Ocean Rafting today as we explore on powered boats, and spend the day visiting idyllic Whitsunday passage. Relax on the world famous Whitehaven Beach, snorkle away from the crowds at Border Islands pristine reefs and enjoy a guided walk to Hill Inlet Lookout.

A guide takes us to Gillies Range and onto the tropical Atherton Tablelands. Exploring the Cathedral and Curtain Fig Trees and we also take a rainfores walk at Lake Barrine National park before lunch. We are going swimming at several waterfalls, such as Millaa Millaa, view the raging Dinner Falls and World Heritage listed Mount Hypipamee National Park. Last stop, the Wallaby Lodge.
DAY 10
We board our flight and arrive in Alice Springs. This evening we make a musical and visual journey at Andrew Langfords's "Sounds of Starlight".

Easter in Australia
Hola!
Christmas in Australia - check
Easter in Australia - check
Yepp, the easter bunny takes its trip around Australia too, and it came to me as well. I spent some time in Orange with my host-mum. It was nice to spend some more time with her, as we both are really busy and hardly see each other.
It took us about 4 hours to drive to Bathurst where we stayed with her sister. We drove to Orange Saturday morning, where we went to a honey "farm". They had all different sorts of honey, and they all had a different flavour to them. Yummy. We went to the pictures in the evening and watched Mirror Mirror. It probably won't make my top ten movies, but definitely was a funny movie! We had the entire family over for lunch on Sunday, and we made a yummy caramel slice.
In a few days I'm heading north with the exchange group. As mentioned before, it's the Capricorn Ramble which I'm going to tell you about a later. I'm really looking forward to the trip, but I kinda feel that the organisation is a bit poor. For instance, the other day I recieved an email from the Safari commitee. It said that we were going on our trip on monday. A few minutes later we got another one.The 2nd one asked us to ignore the first. Seriously, what is going on?? We got it sorted and we are leaving Wednesday.
I spent a day with my 2nd host family. It was good fun, and I was very pleased that Milo still loves me. By the way, he was/is my host dog. We drove to Murrays Beach where we had lunch. It a cute and peaceful place. When we got back to their place I saw the fish bowl they got for christmas. While I was staying with them I used to clean it, and no one had done it since I left. Poor Fuu. I quickly showed them how to do it ;D
Cheers, Bec

Aussi aussie aussie, oi oi oi
Hi! I haven't had time to update what I've been up to, so I'll give you a summary here.
I moved family two weeks ago, and really enjoy living where I do. I live about 5km away from school, and are therefore going to ride the bike to school.
A couple from my Rotary club took me on a trip last week. It took us 8 hours to drive up to Lismore where we stayed. They wanted to show me a different side of Australia, which they definitely managed to do. We went to Nimbin, Byron Bay, Bongalow, and a few other places. Those places are kind of in the middle of nowhere, and this is what wiki says about it: "Nimbin has been described in literature and mainstream media as 'the drug capital of Australia', 'a social experiment' and 'an escapist sub-culture'. Nimbin has become an icon in Australian cultural history with many of the values first introduced there by the counterculture becoming part of modern Australian culture." I really liked Nimbin, the place just had something about it. It looked like the people just lived into the day, and no one stressed around. This might be a little influenced by some drugs, but lets forget about that.
I then sat my exams as I got back, and I hope they went well! *fingers crossed*
I went down to Newcastle on saturday where I met with some exchange students. We cooked a scandinavian dinner for the family we have spent a fair bit of time with, and they where a bit suprised when we placed a whole salmon on the table. It was yummy :D
We caught the train down to Sydeny with the rest of our group, where we were going to meet the two ditricts we are going on safari with. We seem like a nice bunch of people, and are all excited to go on the trip.
Tomorrow, I've got exactly 3 months left in Australia. I can't believe how fast the time has passed!?!
Cheers, Bec
