The best district I could imagine!

Every rotary exchange student probably thinks their district is the best, and so do I. We were a great bunch of people when the outbounds were here, but we still are, even though we sometimes miss them. We again showed it at the district conference last weekend.

I arrived in Warren after a five hour trip friday afternoon. I went to sign in and found out that no one expected me. They all thought I was in PNG - good one, that got cancelled three months ago. But they managed to organise a bed for me, wohey :)

One of our tasks for the weekend was to make up a skit together. We made one based on the different countries stereotypes. For instance; Australian slang, Scandinavian sauna culture, French kissing and eating culture, German accuracy and sooo much more. It turned out quite well, and we also wrote a song to the tunes of "Land down under".

We got nearly all the rotarians up on the dance-floor saturday night, and had a lot of fun during the weekend :D

I'm moving family today, which makes my mood go up and down. I'm looking forward to my third family, but I'm also sad to leave my current one. But it's all part of the deal. I started to pack last sunday, but seriously, where did all this shit come from? I really don't know, and I don't know how I am supposed to get it back with me - haha

Off to warren

District conference in Warren this weekend. "Warren is a town and the seat of a local government area, Warren Shire, on the Macquarie River in central New South Wales, Australia. The town is located on the Oxley Highway 120 kilometres north west of Dubbo. It was laid out in the 1860s and incorporated as a municipality in 1895. The railway reached the town in 1898. Warren is one of the main centres for the wool and cotton growing industries in New South Wales. At the 2006 census, Warren had a population of 1,654."

Exactly four months to go... wæææ

... one question? Where did the last eight months dissapear to? Today, in exactly four months, I'm heading back to Norway. I can't believe how fast the time has passed. Of course there were these days where it felt like the time was standing still, but hey, we all have some of those.

So yeah, four months to go... Such a weird feeling. I'm going to be so happy when I meet my friends and family back in Norway again, however it's going to be so much harder to leave my friends and families here in Australia. I knew, when I left Norway, that I would see them again in one year. It's not going to be like that when I leave Australia. That's the downside of going on exchange to the other side of the worl...

I'm now looking forward to the next four months, and I'll make the most of them, that's for sure!

Cheers!

Reality?

Hi guys!

I'm back to my real exchange life :P

My parents stayed with my host family and me after my friends left friday night. I desided to actually do some homework on saturday because I still haven't given up the plan on making this year count in Norway. I can't believe how hard they make it for us though!? They all want us to go on exchange, but can't ensure that we can continue in the next class when we get back. They expect us to pass all exams and follow a normal students life. They obviously haven't been on exchange, otherwise they would have known how hard it is. First of all: the language. It probably easy for me because I knew a fair bit of english beforehand, but it's still really hard, and I do not want to imagine how it is for those who went to Japan, Spain or something rather. Anyway, I did a bit of homework which I handed in Monday. And hey, one thing I'm really proud of: I got 25 out of 30 point for my english speach!!! :D :D

On Sunday we then went to Caves Beach. A beach with lots of caves (obviously) created by the water. We had lots of fun, and it's great to have a host sister who's kind of as weird as what I am. We put seaweed on our head as hair and climbed around in the caves. "Small things amuse small minds".

I had another day off school on monday (obs) coz I went to Stockton beach with my parents. It was their last day in Australia. We also had lunch at a nice sea food restaurant in Newcastle before they drove down to the airport. So I'm now back to my real exchange life down under. It freaked my out a bit when the said "See you in four months!". I can't believe it! I've only got 4 months to go!?!

I went to my belly dancing class in the evening, and I might be able to learn a little bit by the end of this term. It's great fun, even though I might look a bit silly ;D
