First of all - thank you so much,
Chris and Adrian for taking me to NZ, and for have given me an absolutely
fantastic time.
It isn't possible to write about all
the things we did - but here are some:
We arrived in Auckland Saturday
night, and stayed there for the first night. We then visited to of their
friends in Hamelton where we spent the second night.
We travelled further to a place
called Rotarua on Monday. This is known for its hot smelly pools. It was an
absolutely terrible smell, but still nice to watch and take photos of! We
stoped at a place where you could have races down a hill in a luge (kind of a
go-cart). Heaps of fun, especially because I won :3
We had planned to visit an active
volcano in Whakatane, but the tour got cancelled because of too much rain. We
therefore decided to travel back north again to Bay of Islands. If you have the
chance to visit NZ, definitely stop here! We spent two nights at a motel, visited a Maori Museum, chocolate and fudge factory and went on a day trip with
dolphin watching.
We arrived back in Auckland on
Friday, and stayed there for the rest of the time. The SkyTower was a bit
higher then what we thought, so we didn't do the 360-walk on the outside. On
Sunday, one of my biggest dreams got fulfilled. I got to swim with sharks - or as close as possible. This was in Kelly Tarltons Underwater World.
Together with 3 others I swam in a cage together with 25 sharks! :D
It was a fantastic trip, but I was
still quite pleased to go back to school on tuesday to meet my friends again!
My "host-grandfather" took me to a club in Newcastle where a Jazz-concert was held in the
evening. Two absolutely great funky bands!
It's still spring down under with only 38
degrees. Where is this going to end???
